Massachusetts' government Twitter account, @MassGov, ended sexual assault awareness month in one of the worst ways possible.
The account drew criticism from followers after it tweeted a message on Wednesday night that called sexual assault "always avoidable." Many felt the wording blamed victims of sexual assault, and the controversy is still brewing.
Mass.gov's web team took down the tweet hours later and offered an apology on Twitter on Thursday, but you can still view the message in the screenshot below. Read more...
