Samsung launches ‘Protection Plus Mobile Elite’ warranty scheme in the US

Samsung has today announced its brand new extended warranty program designed exclusively for Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, and soon-to-be Galaxy Note 4 users who reside in the United States.



The Protection Plus Mobile Elite scheme is being offered to all new customers purchasing a  smartphone in either the Galaxy S or Galaxy Note series and covers damages that occur as a result of accidents, software malfunctions, and, of course, hardware failure for two years.


Each customer who enrols in the Protection Plus program will be eligible for following:


  • Cover for accidental damage from handling – drops, spills and cracked screens

  • Cover for electrical and mechanical failures

  • Advanced exchange – replacement within 2 business days or less

  • 24/7/364 customer support (Closed Christmas Day)

  • Up to three claims during coverage period

Unfortunately, this cover comes at quite a steep price. Galaxy S owners will need to fork out $99, while Galaxy Note users will have to pay $129, in order to receive protection from the service. Then, if a claim is filed, they’ll be expected to pay an additional $75 or $95, respectively.
