NEW YORK — Adam West has swooped in to defend Ben Affleck from the swift ridicule he faced after Warner Broscast him for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with the star of the 1960s campy Batman series saying we’ve already seen glimpses of the new Bruce Wayne in Gone Girl.
Many fans weren’t thrilled about the casting choice made last year, giving rise to the trending hashtag #BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck.
“Ben Affleck has matured so beautifully as an actor,” 86-year-old West told Mashable this week. “I’ve heard a lot of adverse comments — I think it’s ridiculous. He’ll be much better than you think. Go see his current movie [Gone Girl] and you’ll see glimpses of Batman. He’ll be good.” Read more…
