A Malaysian government official met with family members of passengers who were aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 to discuss ways to offer them financial assistance. Nearly a month and a half has passed since the Boeing 777-200 plane disappeared over the Indian Ocean during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8.
Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Hamzah Zainuddin met with relatives in Kuala Lumpur Sunday, and asked them to submit a plan for consideration, according to the Associated Press. Zainuddin added that a fund could be set up by Malaysia Airlines or the Malaysian government.
