The New York Times Co. finally has some good news to report.
The media company reported earnings per share of $0.07 on revenue of $390 million for the March quarter, coming in ahead of Wall Street estimates for earnings of $0.03 a share and revenue of around $385 million.
Total revenue, up 2.6% year-over-year, was helped by a surprise uptick in advertising sales. The New York Times Co. print and online ad revenue increased by a combined 3.4% year-over-year (or 3.7% and 2.2%, respectively)
That marks the first year-over-year increase in ad revenue in more than three years, but doesn't necessarily mean it has turned a corner yet. Read more...
