Easter eggs aren't just for the spring holiday anymore — they've become ubiquitous in our movies, TV shows, video games and all things pop culture, too.
Nowadays, you can't watch anything without blinking through one of those little inside jokes, hidden messages, callbacks or subtle homages that writers and directors love to embed. So much so that the "Easter egg" — a phrase coined by Atari developers in 1979 after a colleague left a hidden message in the game Adventure — has practically become its own subgenre.
