The Democracy Fighters Staying Strong on the Streets of Hong Kong

HONG KONG — The Occupy movement does not discriminate. The mix of people on the streets of Hong Kong over the past week has included political figureheads, students, grandmothers, children, lovers, friends, families, foreigners and media


Protesters and observers, young and old, are all there to witness, educate or participate in the vibrant and mostly beautiful fight for democracy.


Here are some of the people who are standing up for what they believe in that Mashable met this week.

The elderly Mrs Tang stuck out in the flock of students. It was not often you spotted the older generation in the crowd. On Wednesday, she was perched on a small stool in the middle of Connaught Road in Admiralty, surrounded by young girls who had not met her before. Read more…
