The Season 7 premier of Mad Men was the talk of the Twitter town on Sunday night. But to my surprise, it wasn't all fandom and praise. Vogue tweeted that it wasn't 'dazzled' by the episode, and some fans shared that they fell asleep within minutes.

Every leading character on the show is like an onion; we think we know them and then they peel back another layer to reveal their past or a new questionable endeavor. Don could open a Party City with all the skeletons in his closet, Peggy continues to make scandalous decisions for an apparent goody two-shoes, and Roger is always on the verge of turning over a new leaf or trying a new psychedelic drug. Still, they're uncomfortably human, making it impossible not to see ourselves in the characters from time to time.

But of course, everyone thinks they're Don Draper. He's charming, sophisticated, mysterious, and could sell billboards to a die-hard inbound marketer. Don doesn't trip on the sidewalk, get ketchup on his shirt, or have typos in important emails to his boss. He's our spirit animal ... or so we like to think.
