Lenovo TAB S8 announced; $199 price tag

Lenovo’s latest tablet is a bottom-shelf priced tablet with near top-shelf specs: The TAB S8. The greatness starts with the display. At 8 inches and 1920×1200, the screen is sharper than FHD. The bezels are miniscule, causing the screen to almost run from edge to edge of the device. The front panel also features Dolby-enhanced dual front speakers and a 1.6 MP HD camera. On the back, there is a respectable 8 MP camera.

Inside the device is 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM, along with Wifi and optional 4G LTE, but that’s not what makes this tablet stand out. Lenovo has included an Intel Atom Z3745 Processor with Intel Burst Performance Technology, which runs four cores at 1.8 GHz. Despite the impressive specs, the TAB S8 is only .65 lbs and .31 in. thin–about the thickness of a pencil. However, all of the neat specs and features mean nothing without a good answer to the following question: how bad is this new tablet running KitKat going to hurt your wallet? Good news: it won’t hurt bad at all. Lenovo’s latest tablet carries a price tag of only $200.
