Partnership marks FanDuel’s first agreement with an NFL team

WASHINGTON & NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–November 14, 2014–

FanDuel, the leader in one-day fantasy sports, today announced a fully integrated marketing agreement with the Washington Redskins, which will prominently showcase FanDuel at FedExField as well as across the team’s digital and social media platforms. Chris Cooley, retired All-Pro tight end and local fan favorite, will also participate in the initiative. The agreement marks the first time the Redskins have partnered with a one-day fantasy sports provider.

“Fantasy sports is an integral part of the NFL gameday experience and we couldn’t be more proud to strategically align with FanDuel – the pioneer of one-day gaming,” said Redskins Chief Marketing Officer Mitch Gershman. “Collaborating with FanDuel will offer yet another fan experience enhancement at FedExField.”

The news comes on the heels of FanDuel’s announcement that the equity-backed startup has more than quadrupled its revenue and user base since the start of football season, expects to generate nearly 60 million dollars in revenue this year, have more than 1.1 million active users and pay out more than a billion dollars in prizes to users in 2015.

“The Washington Redskins executive team is forward thinking, innovative and run a world-class operation,” said Nigel Eccles, CEO of FanDuel. “The Redskins are an invaluable strategic partner for FanDuel as we continue to bring one-day fantasy football to the masses.”
