Who hasn’t had to stay home waiting for a cable guy to show up during a three-hour window … which is inevitably missed?
FieldAware, a cloud management solution for field service organizations, is more than aware of your problem. And it just announced a $24 million round of funding to expand operations.
This company uses mobile software to connect dispatch centers with field workers, such as television repairpeople; they then learn in advance when they need to be at your house and what’s wrong with your television. This round of funding is supposed to help FieldAware expand its product offerings and take on new clients.
Field service management is increasingly moving towards software to the cloud and away from individual business servers. Companies that are making the switch are getting paid too. As an example, ServiceMax, which also serves up cloud solutions for field service management, just took in $71 million in March. No doubt, FieldAware has some big competition in this arena.
But the field is enormous. FieldAware alone provides management software for companies in HVAC, oil and gas, healthcare, telecommunications, facilities and property management, IT support, and the list goes on.
The company has offices in both Plano, Texas, and Dublin, Ireland. This round was led by Summit Bridge Capital, which is co-funded by WestSummit Capital and Atlantic Bridge. Other investors include Silicon Valley Bank as well as previous investors OpenView Venture Partners, Atlantic Bridge, and Oyster Capital Partners.
