With a number of companies releasing LTE octa-core chips, it looks like Huawei is ready to join them. Huawei’s new Kirin 920 is made up of a quad Cortex-A15, plus a quad Cortex-A7. These two cores work simultaneously, along with a Mali-T628 GPU.

The chip also includes a multi-mode LTE Cat 6 radio, allowing for data speeds of up to 300 Mbps on carriers that are set up for carrier aggregation. The Kirin 920 also has a low-power I3 sensor co-processor, along with a Tensilica HIFI3 audio processor. A release date is still yet to be announced.
