SYDNEY — Melbourne is getting a lot of good press this week. First, it was declared Australia's most liveable city, and now it has the best restaurant in the country.
The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index ranked Melbourne no. 1 out of 140 cities around the world for the fourth year in a row. Melbourne beat out Vienna in Austria and Vancouver in Canada for the top spot in the annual report. And don't even mention Sydney.
Australia scored well overall compared to the rest of the world, with four cities securing places in the top 10. Adelaide, the city of churches, shocked by sitting pretty at no. 5. Sydney surely won't be happy with spot no. 7 on the list. Meanwhile, Perth scraped in at no. 9. Read more...
