
San Francisco has a reputation for being a hospitable host to its many tech startups. So it may have caught some by surprise when the city attorney issued a fiery cease-and-desist letter to one local startup, promising legal action if they do not cease operations in SF.
The target of the letter was MonkeyParking, the company behind the iOS app of the same name, which enables its users to charge other drivers for their parking spaces
Citing local police code that prohibits individuals and companies from charging for the use of public sidewalks or streets, San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera slammed MonkeyParking in a letter to the Italian company's CEO Monday. Read more...
