With only a few days to go until Motorola announces a new smartphone on May 13th, a new image has popped up that allegedly shows the Moto E, a device Motorola will be selling in developing markets. Last month we reported the Moto E would be heading to Mexico with other markets to follow, so it should not be a surprise that the leaked photo came from a Facebook user located in Mexico.
The image posted on Facebook, since pulled, shows a white Moto E sitting next to a Moto G. There is a very minor size difference between the two and the Moto E appears to have some branding marks on the face of the device. Previous reports only hinted at a rear-facing camera and the posted image appears to support that difference compared to other Motorola devices.
Although Motorola has been avoiding the high-end smartphone battles, choosing to go down a different path with their version of a flagship device in the Moto X, the introduction of the Moto G and now the forthcoming Moto E shows that Motorola does recognize the need to offer products along a wide continuum of price points and feature sets.
