SYDNEY — An Australian comedian is so popular in South Korea you can't turn on the television without hearing his name, yet most Australians have never heard of him.
Sam Hammington, 37, is the first foreign comedian in South Korea who has managed to hit the big time after being discovered by random as an audience member at a comedy night.
"I put my hand up and it was such a novelty when a Korean-speaking foreigner got up," he told ABC's Australian Story about the comedy night in Seoul. "And there were script writers and directors in the audience. And one of them wanted a Korean-speaking foreigner for a show." Read more...
