SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea launched two projectiles Wednesday morning into the sea off its east coast, in an apparent continuation of a recent series of missile and artillery test launches, a South Korean defense official said.
The launch was presumed to be of Scud missiles, but the official, who asked for anonymity because of department rules, had no other details.
North Korea has conducted an unusually large number of test-firings of missiles and rockets since earlier this year, including launches before Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent visit to South Korea.
