
Lyft has agreed to play by the rules in New York City.
The San Francisco-based ride-sharing startup promised in court on Monday that it would only operate with drivers and vehicles that are formally approved by New York's Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC), the organization responsible for monitoring the city's taxi and for-hire vehicle industry

Lyft, which delayed its scheduled NYC launch last Friday, had previously promised to move forward with launch plans despite initial threats from the TLC.
Lyft said its services don't fall under TLC jurisdiction, and ignored the initial warnings.
