Computex 2014 isn’t until next week, but Acer has decided to make moves before the madness begins.
The company announced its upcoming tablet (for Q3), the Iconia Tab 8, which features a full-HD (1920×1200 pixels) IPS display, Android 4.4 KitKat, a quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor, 2GB RAM, a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, and will come in 16GB and 32GB variants. Both variants have a microSD card slot for expandable storage as well. The tablet is 8.5mm thick and weighs in at 360 grams.
On the UI front, Acer packed in its “Touch WakeApp” feature, which allows users to wake up their device with a touch feature, much like the “Knock On” feature on LG devices.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Micro-USB. Pricing and availability were not mentioned, but expect to hear more soon.
