Welcome to this morning’s edition of “First To Know,” a series in which we keep you in the know on what’s happening in the digital world.
Today, we’re looking at several particularly interesting stories. It’s April Fools day, and companies around the world are coming up with some great pranks, like this treasure map feature in Google Maps. Google also claims it’s releasing a new feature for its search engine called Google Nose, and Twitter claims it’s shifting to a two-tiered service for users
There are also some real news floating around. The world’s first petaflop supercomputer, lovingly named “Roadrunner,” is being decommissioned today. Finally, some Twitter users were a little peeved over Google’s choice to celebrate Cesar Chavez’s birthday with a Google Doodle, instead of Easter. Read more…
