
SYDNEY — An Australian nightclub bouncer has been identified as a kingpin within the Islamic State, recruiting dozens of Australians to the frontline in Syria and Iraq.
Mohammad Ali Baryalei, 33, is a senior recruiter for Australians travelling to fight in Syria and Iraq, ABC’s 7.30 Report revealed on Monday night. The show claimed he has established himself within the group as the most senior Australian member and is involved in IS operational command in Syria and Iraq.
According to the program, authorities believe Baryalei has been involved in recruiting 30 of the 60 Australians fighting with Islamic State (IS), including two of Australia’s most wanted terrorists Khaled Sharrouf, 32, and Mohamed Elomar, 30. Read more…
